Dylan Martorell (Australia)

Dylan Martorell is a Melbourne based multidisciplinery artist whose practice incorporates music, installation, performance, costume and instrument making.  Recent work has focused on cultivating musical arcologies combining architectural form, edible plants and sound.

In September he will tour a multipurpose nomadic structure designed in conjunction with Sunday Morning Designs through Indonesia and Vietnam reaching its final destination in Yogyakarta in late October.

Using locally sourced materials such as bamboo, recycled woven plastics and various natural fibres the shelter will be created anew in each destination and

draw on the expertise of local craftspeople. Taking on various roles such as performance space, childrens playhouse and gallery, the shelter will respond to the needs of the visiting artists and local communities
