Between sky and earth: ways of making place in a placeless world
Thursday 20th October - Friday 21st October 2005
Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington, New Zealand
Between Earth and Sky was a two day event held at a range of locations throughout Wellington City. Over the two days participants heard from artists and makers from across the south as they explored issues dealing with the creation of local identity in an increasingly global society. Further creative responses to the histories of colonisation, Internet, Free Trade Agreements, migration, surveillance and global spectacle were also broached.
To compliment the forum day on the 20th October a series of workshops were held on the 21 October to provide makers and artists, as well as the general public, with the opportunity to practically engage with the visiting facilitators.
