The South Project is a major international arts project that brings together the distinct voices of the southern hemisphere through south-south dialogue and cross-cultural exchange.
Making its platform in the south, it supports and promotes the experience and understanding of contemporary visual culture in the south for global audiences.
• We believe that art has the ability to transform life, and is an integral component in developing south – south intercultural exchange.
• We are dedicated to an ongoing rigorous investigation of contemporary cultural life that challenges and inspires audiences and the art community.
• We are by nature a lateral organisation in our structure and philosophy where consultation is essential.
The South Project presents a distinctive and dynamic model; collaborative and participatory; an ongoing program that feeds into a major international event and brings audiences with it as part of a long-term commitment to visual culture in the south.
