About South Residencies & Exchange
“Being outside of my home country has given me a bigger perspective of my own practice. It has made me question my strategies and learn to adapt my working methods”.
Claudia del Fierro 2007 Artist in Residence (South/RMIT)
The South Project is focused on generating exchange opportunities for a growing network of artists, writers, curators and educators. By linking different countries of the south we aim to further a dialogue on engaging art thinking and production away from the epicentres of the art world.
The key aims for the Residency Program are to provide opportunities for artists to explore ways of linking different cultures of the south through through first hand experiences by supporting mobility, and to encourage artistic creation and production through collaboration.
