Mapping South – The Potentials of the South Project
Call for Contributions
Deadline for Proposals EXTENDED: 31 December 2011
The South Project is calling for contributions for its upcoming publication Mapping South.
Edited by Anthony Gardner and a collective of some of the south’s leading cultural producers for publication in 2012, Mapping South seeks to illuminate the significance of cross-cultural connections and perspectives throughout the south, and propose new pathways for building those connections in the future. The anthology will feature a selection of images, reflections, essays and polemics that emphasise the South Project’s exchange of cultural histories, knowledge and creativity across the region.
Contributions are welcome from artists, writers, designers, craftspeople, curators, scholars – anyone who has an interest in what it means to speak from the south, in reframing contemporary cultural realities from the perspectives of the south, and in reimagining cultural connections within and across the south.
The South Project seeks contributions in both visual and written form, made by individuals or in collaborations, that analyse, document, challenge or reflect the histories, realities and possibilities of cultural production in the south.
Go to The Call for further information for contributions.
