Future Gatherings

The South Project Gatherings have been challenging conventional delivery modes offering a distinctive and dynamic alternative to the traditional conference model. Committed to exploring new and diverse formats through collaborative methods, the Gatherings provide a platform for artists, writers, curators and educators to engage in cross-cultural dialogue and debate.
In 2009, the South Project steers further away from forum-style events to present a series of curated projects and public programs as its new formation of Gathering to include exhibitions, residencies, performances and artists & their works in the public domain.
With the transition in 2008, the project explored the nature of cross cultural engagement with a symposium / workshop that question the purpose of WHY GATHER?
