Dead Revolutionaries Club

The DRC was established in 2007 and consists of a five members: two artists, a writer, a curator and a poet with an intention of providing a platform for different voices in the art milieu to emerge. The DRC has been engaged in the following activities: a monthly conversation series, Saturday art classes, exhibitions and we are currently working towards establishing the online webzine. Our quarterly online publication is primarily concerned with visual arts, but also intends to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue between different artistic and cultural forms. We also hope that the webzine will be a departure from magazines that exist at the moment in the sense that we will combine serious analysis with light-hearted, “raw” material and give more liberty to different writers to express themselves without too much editorial interference.

The first issue of the webzine will focus on the theme of “Manifestos”. We thought that this is a particularly appropriate starting point as a way of introducing our philosophy to our audience. Subsequent themes include the following: “Translation”; “Skin”; “Women in the Arts”; “This, That, The Other”; as well as “Cannibalism”.
